SENIOR MEN CO LEAGUE –  Round 6:
We played away to Castleisland Desmonds last evening in Round 6 of the Co League. Throw in was at 7.30 p.m. on a beautiful summer’s evening.

James Duggan opened the scoring with a point from play to Mitchels and this was followed by 3 pts by Castleisland Cian O’Connor 2 from play and 1 from a free.

Mitchels added a point from play with a solo effort from Sean Moloney. Castleisland followed up with two further points followed by 3 James Duggan points one from play 2 from frees leaving the 1st quarter level at 5 points each.

Mitchels added 3 further points before half time 2 Alan O’Donoghue converted frees and 1 from play by Jack Myers. Castleisland added 1 further point from play by Brian Leonard leaving the half time Score Castleisland Desmonds 0-06, John Mitchels 0-08. We had two great saves by our Goalkeeper Dermot Raggett when Castlleisland Desmonds dominated in the 1st quarter.

Mitchels completely dominated the 2nd half scoring 5 points in the 3rd quarter with Castleisland Desmonds only scoring 1 point. Mitchels scorers Alan O’Donoghue (1-01), Shane O’Connor (0-02), Sean Moloney (0-01) leaving the score Castleisland 0-07  John Mitchels 1-12 heading into the last quarter.

With Mitchels in complete control of the game they added on 4 more points 1 each from Shane O’Connor, Stevie O’Mahoney, Alan O’Donoghue and James Duggan all from play. Castleisland added on a further 2 points leaving the final score Castleisland Desmonds 0-09 John Mitchels 1-16.

Mitchels were deserving winners and the final score reflected their dominance in the game.
We are home to Kerins O’Rahillys in Round 7 on Saturday July 1st at 7.30 p.m.

Town Board Senior Championship 2017 Intermediate Final:
Ballymacelligott & John Mitchels {Venue TBC}
This game will take place on Saturday June 24th at 7.30p.m.
As it is a final The Board is seeking a Neutral Venue for this fixture and will be in contact on this.

IMPORTANT NOTICE – MOUTHGUARDS:
Please notify and advise all team managers both in the Senior and Underage structure of the importance of passing on the below information to their players.

It is vital that ALL players both Underage & Senior wear mouth-guards while playing/training.
If no mouth-guard worn and a player receives a dental injury then the Player Injury Scheme Claim will be declined.

U14 BOYS:
Our under 14 team are on a break from games for a few weeks while the
Under 14 Championship takes place.
We are training on Tuesday evening from 5.30 to 7p.m. at the moment.

The fixtures  for the Central League are out and are as follows:

July  3rd    Glenbeigh/Glencar/Cromane (home)
July 10th  An Gaeltacht (away)
July 17th  Churchill(away)

U14 LADIES:
The County League is now finished and we will train for North Kerry League,
U13 and U 15 County Championships and Town League and U 13 Sandra Keane
Blitz. Training continues every Monday and Thursday. Teamers will be sent
out.

U16 LADIES:
We  have a break now from matches until after the Junior Certificate.
Training will continue every Monday and Thursday  for the North Kerry
League, Town Championship and U 15 Championship which will take place over
the Summer. Teamers will be sent out.

CLUB MEMBERSHIP:
Club Membership of John Mitchels for 2017 is now due
Membership fees are as follows:

JUVENILE REGISTRATION – IMPORTANT REMINDER:
Please note that registration fees are now overdue for both Boys and Girls.
It is essential that every Juvenile is registered to cover them for Medical Insurance while participating in  Club activities and games.

JUVENILE TRAINING:
Please note that Juvenile Training will continue next Sunday June 24th.

U6s:
Training continues next Sunday from 11.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon

U8s:
John Mitchels U8 boys had a busy week of training and football games this week. First up were the Town GO GAMES which were held in NA GAEIL. We played 3 very competitive games. Both coaches & players were very happy with the performance. Training continues next Sunday morning from 10.30am to 12.00pm GUM SHIELDS ESSENTIAL please feel free to bring a friend ALL WELCOME until then KEEP ON PRACTICING !!

U10 Boys:
We had a great session of training last Sunday despite the heat. Gerard, Nathan, Luke, Adam and Tomas put in a huge effort and got on a load of ball. Will Jim, Joey, Coiln and Connor tackled with all their might and were very effective players. Killian, Tadhg, Pascal and Robbie kept working hard and kept improving their skills. Rudhrai, Enda, Brogan and Nadal and the rest of the lads put in great effort and are great prospects for the future. Well done again to all and we have Go games on Tuesday or Wednesday in Na Gael watch out for texts, bring gum shields.

SPRING CLEANOUT – CLOTHES FUNDRAISER:
John Mitchels are commencing their Clothes Collection  again for 2017 so please donate any unwanted Clothes and Textiles (clean re-wearable clothes, paired shoes, belts, handbags, curtains, towels, bed linen, soft toys are accepted)  Where possible please donate at least 3+ bags – this really does raise much needed funds for our Club. Please drop items to the the Complex, Ballyseedy.

JOHN MITCHELS SPORTS COMPLEX:
Our Sports Complex at Camp Ballyseedy is available for bookings on the Sports Hall and All Weather pitch. The Complex is also open for children’s parties.  Further information contact the Club reception on

Please note that all club merchandise is now available for purchasing only through Henneberys Sports Shop, Ashe St, Tralee and is no longer for sale at our complex in Ballyseedy.
Please also note that our Club colours are  – Green and Gold Jerseys, White togs and Green and Gold socks.
