Co League 2018 – Round 7 John Mitchels v An Ghaeltacht:
John  Mitchels played An Ghaeltacht in Round 7 of the Senior Co League this afternoon at home with a strong cross field wind which slightly favoured the Gaeltacht in the 1st half. An Gaeltacht opened the scoring with a point from play in the 4th minute from Tomás Ó Sé. The game was levelled with a point from play from Sean Moloney. This was followed by a Tomás Ó Sé goal in the 7th minute for An Gaeltacht and a further point from Eanna O Conchuir. Mitchels added a further 3 points in the 1st quarter from Wayne Duggan, James Duggan and Shane O’Connor leaving the score 1-02 to 0-04 in favour of An Gaeltacht.
Mitchels opened the 2nd quarter with a point from play from James Duggan. An Gaeltacht replied with a goal from Tomás Ó Sé and a Seán O Conchuir point. Mitchels and An Gaeltacht traded points from Shane O’Connor and Roibeard Ó Sé. At the stroke of half time Mitchels were awarded a penalty which was converted by Lawrence Bastible leaving the scoreline 1-06 to 2-04 in favour of An Gaeltacht.
Mitchels levelled the game with a Niall Sheehy free in the 2nd minute of the 2nd half. In the remainder of the 3rd quarter An Gaeltacht could only manage 2 points from play as Mitchels dominated with 2  Niall Sheehy converted frees and points from James Duggan and Alan O’Donoghue and a Wayne Conway goal giving Mitchels the lead 2-11 to 2-06 leading into the last quarter.
An Gaeltacht then turned the game on its head scoring 1-02 without reply levelling the game in the 20th minute. Mitchels managed 3 further points 2 Shane O’Connor points from play and a Niall Sheehy free. It was An Gaeltacht that dominated the last 10 minutes of play adding 6 further points giving a final scoreline 2-14 to 3-14 in favour of An Gaeltacht.

U8s:
We are now taking names for our annual John Mitchels Summer Camp. This year will see each child receive a John Mitchels top plus we’ll have a visit from our local ice cream van, bouncy castles, arts & crafts, Football & loads of Fun and games & all this in our state of the art facilities. Application forms will be available at the front desk at John Mitchels on Sunday morning so to avoid disappointment please enrol your child or children asap as spaces are limited thanks in advance see you all Sunday morning from 10.30am to 12.00pm😊

SPRING CLEANOUT – CLOTHES FUNDRAISER:
John Mitchels are commencing their Clothes Collection again for 2018 so please donate any unwanted Clothes and Textiles (clean re-wearable clothes, paired shoes, belts, handbags, curtains, towels, bed linen, soft toys are accepted) Where possible please donate at least 3+ bags – this really does raise much needed funds for our Club. Please drop items to the the Complex, Ballyseedy.

Our Bingo continues on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday nights. Bingo is a vital fundraiser for the Club and all funds raised from the Bingo goes directly back into the Club and all support is greatly appreciated. Any member who wishes to volunteer can do so by giving their details to any club officer.

JOHN MITCHELS SPORTS COMPLEX:
Our Sports Complex at Camp Ballyseedy is available for bookings on the Sports Hall and All Weather pitch. The Complex is also open for children’s parties. Further information contact the Club reception on 066 7197070.

MERCHANDISE:
Please note that all club merchandise is now available for purchasing only through Henneberys Sports Shop, Ashe St, Tralee and is no longer for sale at our complex in Ballyseedy. Please also note that our Club colours are – Green and Gold Jerseys, White togs and Green and Gold socks.
