Under 12 Girls

Our U12 girls turned in a great display at the Kerins O Rahillys invitational blitz this morning.

Fantastic way to bring a great season to a close. Congratulations player’s and coaches for representing the green and gold of John Mitchels with great pride all year. It’s been a year where great forward strides were made.
Well done & thanks to all involved!

Under 14 Girls

John Mitchels Green u14 girls hosted Na Gaeil in there North Kerry League Division 3 game on Thursday night. And it was a disappointing result for the girls as the lack of games in the previous few weeks cost them during the game.

Credit to Na Gaeil, who worked hard for their victory, and with games against Dingle and Emmets to come, it is hoped they will finish the season strongly.

The Gold team had a good win against St Pats in Divison Five of the same competition and were in action against Shannonside Tarbert on Sunday in the next round.

Best of luck to the Mitchels girls in action foe the Tralee District u15 team in their county championship final against Mid Kerry on Tuesday.

Under 16 Girls

The U16 girls had there third round of U16 Division 2 Monday evening home to Na Gaeil. The girls put down tremendous work defence holding strong with midfield adding that link for the forwards to take their chances and get scores on the board. Na Gaeil always managed to stay ahead throughout the game where we lost out by 6 points in the end. The girls put down a fabulous display of Football from start to finish. Next round date and time TBC. Under 9 Boys

John Mitchels U9 Boys

Had a fantastic training session last Sunday. Our lad’s were giving a mission to practice their kicking last week & our coaches were very happy to report huge improvements in their long & short kicking. We had big numbers on Sunday which meant 4 team’s & 2  highly competitive games of football with our “3 pass rule” to ensure everyone gets on the ball & feels included. With our season coming to an end it’s important we get a full attendance each week from here on in. Hope to see ye all again next Sunday morning from 10.15am until then keep on practicing & keep up the good work!!

Under 11 Boys
Training continues next Sunday at 10.30am

Under 13 Boys

The season came to a close last week, we had a very successful year at this age group, with three Division 1 titles for our Green team winning every available trophy on offer and our Gold team winning a Division 13 County title.

More importantly than winning medals at this age group, it was a season of progress with our entire squad taking huge steps forward in their development.
Turning up to training with smiles on their faces and leaving training with the hard work done and an even bigger smile on their face was the primary goal.

We have ended the season on a real high and hope for a speedy recovery to Calvin, Darragh and Thomas who suffered injuries during the run in.

 Under 15 Boys

U15 Central League Division 1 ChampionsA tight affair Tuesday in Austin Stack Park as we took on the 2023 Feile Champions in the final game of the Central League.

5 points down in the first 15 minutes and under serious pressure by the slick attacking style of Rangers, a red card turned the tide in our favor as we kicked three points and with a slice of luck an innocuous floating ball towards goal ghosted past the keeper to put us one point up. It was tense to half time but we went in with our noses just in front.

Our second goal came by way of a penalty in the second half after a very good move but an agonizing seven minutes of extra time was played as our backs hassled and harried in keeping Rangers at bay and eventually the ref blew the whistle to crown our u15s as Central League Champions for 2023 on a final score of John Mitchels 2-6
Laune Rangers 0-11pts
Well done  mentors Alan Donoghue, Declan Connolly, Sean Field, Thomas Kearns, Anthony Clifford and John Collins
