CLUB CONVENTION:
The John Mitchels Club Convention will take place on Saturday 23rd January 2016 at 5.00 p.m. in John Joe Sheehy Rd club facilities. Nominations and motions can be posted or emailed to the club secretary before 5p.m. on 13th January 2016.
AWARDS NIGHT
We held the annual awards evening on Saturday last. This event was very well attended and the U12, U14 & U16 boys and girls who all received medals on the night.
Senior players Alan O’Donoghue who Captained the Kerry Junior team to victory in the All Ireland series and Kerry Minor player James Duggan presented the medals to the players.
Alan spoke to the players on the importance of giving full commitment to the club, on and off the field of play. He said that as a player himself he credits the work put in by the club mentors from when he was U8 to present for the success he achieved with the Kerry Junior team in 2015.
Club Chairman Matt Moloney welcomed everybody to the club and spoke on how the Juvenile section is going from strength to strength and he thanked the mentors and players for their work throughout the year.
The medals presented on the night were:
U-12 boys – both teams won their Division in the County League while team two also won the Castleisland District League
U-12 ladies – North Kerry Shield and B Town League winners
U-13 boys – winners of Division 2 of the Town League
U-14 boys – Central League Division 3 winners
U-14 ladies – winners of the North Kerry League Division 2
U-16 boys – Central District League winners
U-16 girls – North Kerry Shield
Thanks also to Pat and Kerry who provided the hot food on the night.
