Brenda Hartnett – An Appreciation:

It all seemed so incongruous – the huge crowds with heavy hearts waiting to pay their respects and in the distance the twinkling Christmas lights.

The lights however, seemed to have lost their lustre and looked dimmer as the night went on.

The crowds, oblivious to the falling raindrops which were indistinguishable from tear stained cheeks, waited in line to pay their respects to a much loved wife, mother, daughter, sister, niece & aunt.

The turnout at the removal & funeral was one of the largest the town has ever seen – it was testament to Brenda’s life where she touched so many with her endearing smile, her cheerful personality & above all her ability to make one feel better for having met her.

The funeral cortège was witness to large groups lining the paths en route to the cemetery, heads bowed down to express their respect & deep gratitude for a life well lived but sadly so short.

Brenda will be truly missed but never forgotten.
