Kerry Airport To Receive €1.4m In Funding

OVER €1.4 million in funding for Kerry Airport has been announced this morning.

Minister of State at the Department of Transport Hildegarde Naughton announced €1,434,355 in funding for Kerry Airport under the Regional Airports Programme 2021-2025.

The latest tranche of Government funding provides targeted support for safety and security operations at the airports such as air traffic control, fire services and security, ensuring airports can continue to remain compliant with regulatory requirements in these areas.

In all, over €21 million in direct Exchequer supports to the airports of Shannon, Cork, Ireland West (Knock), Kerry and Donegal were announced today.

Kerry Fianna Fáil TD and Minister for Education, Norma Foley, welcomed the news saying: “I welcome this funding which will deliver further vital financial supports to Kerry Airport with a particular focus on safety, security operations and air traffic control.  This funding reinforces the importance and value that Government places on the vital role of our regional airports and how connectivity directly supports tourism and enterprise in Kerry.”
