Gardaí attached to the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and the Kerry Divisional Drug Unit carried out a joint operation with Revenue’s Customs Service in the Limerick area yesterday.
Revenue Officers seized approximately 55kgs worth of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €1.1m.
A man in his 40s was arrested by Gardaí and is currently detained at a Garda Station in the Southern Region under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996. Investigations are ongoing.
