A NEW Garda Chief Superintendent will be appointed for Kerry soon in a reshuffle of positions.
Current Kerry Garda Chief Superintendent Tom Myers, who was appointed in December 2016, is to take up a role in the Fermoy district in Cork at the end of the month.
It is expected he will be replaced by Eileen Foster, who will be the first female Kerry Chief Superintendent.
Eileen Foster is a former Detective Inspector who headed up the Garda Protective Services Unit in Cork and Dublin.
