FESTIVE scenes and images of Kerry at Christmas adorn the new set of Christmas cards launched by the Kerry Hospice Foundation last night.

Members of the Kerry Camogie team which won the Junior All-Ireland final this year were present with Kerry footballer David Moran for the launch of the cards at the Palliative Care Day Unit last night.

Designed by artist Jane Hilliard, a pack of ten cards costs €7 and can be bought from Kerry Hospice branch members as well as in Jane Hilliard’s gallery in Tralee Shopping Centre.

Jane designed cards with Killarney Cathedral, a deer in the National Park and Inishtooskert island — more popularly known as ‘An Fear Marbh’ — among others.

This is the 27th year of the cards and Frank Hayes of Kerry Group was there on the night where he accepted a certificate to acknowledge the contribution over the years, while Jane Hilliard also received an a certificate.

It’s a vital fundraiser for the Kerry Hospice Foundation and around €40,000 is raised each year from sales of the cards.
