Kerry Hospice And Recovery Haven To Benefit From Mountain Climb

Kerry-Hospice-Logo-2The ‘Strickeen Mountain Climb’, now in its third year of operation will be raising funds for two Kerry based organisations when it takes place on March 7.

Recovery Haven, which is a cancer support house/group is based here in Tralee and the Kerry Hospice Foundation will benefit greatly from the event, which has already raised over €15,000 for cancer charities based in Kerry.

The ‘Mountain Climb’ promises to be a great day where walkers will climb Strickeen Mountain which is located at the Gap of Dunloe and where afterwards, the can attend a dance that is being held in Kate Kearneys Cottage.

The Kerry Hospice Foundation are currently in the process of building a 15-bed specialist inpatient palliative care unit at Kerry General Hospital (KGH) which is to be opened later this year, with all funds from the walk going to to help the completion of the project.

Recovery Haven is a facility for the benefit of all those Kerry citizens who have been through the life shattering experience of cancer.

Registration for the walk will be at Kate Kearneys from 11am to 12pm on March 7 with the dance taking place later that night.

The cost will be €5 at the door.
