The key theme of the fund is to support groups, particularly in disadvantaged areas, with their energy bills, as well as with improvements to their facilities.

Welcoming the announcement, Minister for Education and Kerry Fianna Fáil TD Norma Foley said, “The funding announced today is all about giving a helping hand to our local groups and clubs with their energy costs, insurance costs, utility bills and improvements to facilities.

“I would like to thank all our community volunteers for their fantastic work and Kerry County Council for their assistance in administering this fund.”
