Ladies taking part in the ‘Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever’ event in West Kerry on Saturday.
IT was some sight out in West Kerry on Saturday as a host of Kate Bush lookalikes descended on Fahamore and Brandon to raise money for Adapt Kerry.
Dressed in red, participants re-enacted the dance from the music video for Kate Bush’s famous debut single Wuthering Heights.
The ‘Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever’ is a global Kate Bush dance event that is held in July every year. Inspired by the ‘Ultimate Kate Bush Experience’ by performance collective Shambush in 2013, the event is now held in more than 15 countries and continues to grow.

Local dance teacher Carol O’Connor said; ”We’re proud to support Adapt Kerry, who say ‘here to listen, believe, and support’. The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever in Kerry has seen a community coming together to joyfully support and raise awareness of families affected by domestic violence. We’re passionate about giving them agency to rebuild their lives.”
The inaugural Fahamore event was followed later that day by a flash mob that surprised the Feile Lughnasa festival crowd at Brandon Pier.

The organisers were delighted with the enthusiasm and support from the local community, and they’re already looking forward to next year, when they hope to see Kates from all over the county joining in.
Catherine Casey, General Manager of Adapt Kerry, said; “We were so impressed with this event. It was wonderful to see so many people participating and supporting. We wish to thank everyone involved for a great day, and for raising awareness and supporting women and children living with domestic violence and coercive control. This was a really special event.”
