FARMERS from across the county recently attended the Animal Welfare & Nutrition Information Event hosted by Lee Strand Co-operative Creamery.
The event took place in Brownes Home, Agri & Builder Providers in Castleisland with guest speakers Bianca Theeruth, Cargill Nutrition; Brian Quilter, Vet (MRCVS); David Morgan, Crystalyx Nutrition; Andrew O’Connell, Auctus First Fibre and Sean Quigley, JFC.
The Animal Welfare & Nutrition Information Event offered support and knowledge to farm suppliers to assist them in the management and welfare of new born calves.

In the long term, this method will lead to healthier adult cows who are more capable of producing a higher quality and volume of milk.
John O’Sullivan, General Manger, Lee Strand commented; “The event was a great success and we would like to thank all the guest speakers who attended. The information presented was very practical and can be easily implemented to achieve the goals of calf health and nutrition. This in turn guarantees continuous high quality milk for all our customers.”
