Less Than Five Additional COVID-19 Cases In Kerry, 384 Nationally

THERE were less than five new cases of COVID-19 reported for Kerry at the NPHET briefing this evening.

When the number is below five, the exact number is not revealed until the following day on the COVID data hub. There were no additional deaths and 384 more cases reported nationally.

The 14 day incidence of new cases for Kerry is 54.2 per 100,000 people. There have been 80 cases reported in the same period and the rolling five day average of cases is 6.

Kerry is the county with the fourth lowest incidence of cases in the past 14 days (after Cork, Kilkenny and Leitrim). The national incidence rate over the past 14 days is 150.7.

There have now been 226,741 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ireland and 4,534 people who died with the virus since the start of then pandemic.

As of 8am today, 349 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 86 are in ICU. There have been 17 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.

As of last Thursday (11 March), there have been 589,512 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in Ireland:
• 426,819 people have received their first dose
• 162,693 people have received their second dose
