Looking Forward To Blennerville Horse And Pony Agricultural Show Next Month

THE 42nd Blennerville Horse and Pony Agricultural show will be held on Sunday, July 9, and will be the second time the event will be held in the new showgrounds in Ballymacthomas, Ballymacelligott (eircode V92 DIH7).

Building on success of the 2022 show, this year will see ponies, horses, cattle and sheep compete in their respective classes as well as the dog show, bonny baby competition and baking competitions.

“We’re very excited to be holding our show again this year and look forward to welcoming people to take part and enjoy the festivities,” said Tim Hurley, chairperson of the Blennerville Show Committee.

“We’re in our second year at our new grounds and have learned a lot from last year’s show. We’ve made some big improvements including larger rings and traffic management. We’re so grateful to all who have supported our show throughout the years, and look forward to another great day!”

As well as competitive events, the day will have lots of entertainment for all the family, including music by the Lenihan brothers, Magic Steve, Face painting and much more.

Competitors can register online through www.SJI.ie for the show jumping and links will be posted on their Facebook page (click here) and there will also be a booth where people can register on the day. Gates will open at 9.30am, with all competitions starting at 11 am sharp.
