A SELECTION of paintings from a local artist are being exhibited in a cafe over the coming week, with all proceeds from sales going to Tralee-based charity Action Lesotho.

Maree O’Connor was joined by friends and representatives from Action Lesotho, Paul Hanrahan and David Buttimer, at the launch of the exhibition at The Daily Grind Cafe on The Mall on Friday morning.

All proceeds from the sale of the paintings will go to the Infant Feeding Programme  currently being run by the registered charity founded by Paul Hanrahan.

“Paul visited Lesotho recently to see how all their programmes are going, but the one that resonated with me is their Infant feeding programme  as I have a grandson the same age as the babies who are receiving vital nutrition daily from Action Lesotho,” said Maree.

Maree paints with various media-oils, acrylics and pastels and has completed a series of paintings under the heading ‘Solas agus Tuiscint’. Inspired by Kerry landscapes, seas and skies, this collection explores the effect of nature on the spirit.

Maree’s last exhibition at The Daily Grind back in July saw her work sell out in record time, so get their early to secure a painting which would make a nice Christmas gift for someone. If you see a painting you like in the cafe, call Fran on 0861728906.
