THE Minister for Education, Norma Foley TD, will officially open 120 new local authority homes in Tralee on this Friday.
Minister Foley will open the new units which have been developed by Kerry County Council at Rahoonane, Croogorts, Ballyrickard and Lohercannon.
Eight units will be opened at Rahoonane, 30 at Croogorts, 21 units at Cluain na Géise, Ballyrickard, and 61 units at Cluain Láir, Lohercannon.

This is shocking!
If the 1980’s house designs were reused but with the building techniques changed to a higher insulation standard and heat recover system – a hell of a lot more houses could have been built for the same cost.
Shocking, the private dwellings in the area look and probably feel like the poor relations of this so called new social housing estate.
Seriously, I never thought I would prefer a social housing unit over a private dwelling in Lohercannon? LOL.
