THE Kerry branch of the Green Party selected Anne-Marie Fuller as its new chairperson at its AGM in Killarney on Saturday.

Ms Fuller replaces outgoing chairperson Paul Bowler who will be running for election to Kerry County Council in the Castleisland electoral area in June.

Ms Fuller has withdrawn her candidacy in the Listowel Electoral Area, after previously being selected to run there.

“It’s an honour to chair the Kerry branch of the Green Party,” she says. “We are going into the local and European elections with five excellent local election candidates and Grace O’Sullivan MEP looking to retain her seat in Europe. I’m really looking forward to supporting them get elected. There is much to be done behind the scenes and I think my energies will be well deployed in this role during this very important election year.”

The five Green Party candidates are Cleo Murphy – Kenmare; Anluan Dunne – Tralee; Diarmaid Griffin – Killarney; Peadar Ó Fionnáin – Dingle and Paul Bowler – Castleisland.
