THE new Kerry Hurling team manager has been announced.
Fintan O’Connor will succeed Ciarán Carey in the top hurling role in the county. He will take up the position with immediate effect for an initial two year term with the option of a third year.
Tipperary-based O’Connor will announce his management and backroom teams at a later date.
O’Connor has been Coach/Selector with the Waterford Senior Hurling Team under Derek McGrath for the past two years
He has been Coach /Selector at Waterford Institute of Technology for the past three years during which they reached two Fitzgibbon Cup Finals, winning in 2014.
He was manager of Cappoquin Hurling Club leading them to Munster Intermediate Hurling Club Title in 2014 and previously manager of Fourmilewater Hurling Club from 2009 – 2013 leading them to a County Semi Final in 2013
He has been involved with Blackwater Community College for the past 13 years.
