No Additional COVID Cases Reported For Kerry This Evening, 426 Nationally

THERE were no new cases of COVID-19 reported for Kerry this evening.

There were 10 additional deaths and 426 new cases of the virus reported nationally. Of the deaths reported today four occurred in April, five occurred in March, one occurred in February. The median age of those who died was 84 years and the age range was 77 – 97 years.

The 14 day incidence of new cases for Kerry is 28.4 per 100,000 people. There have been 42 cases reported in the same period and the rolling five day average of cases is one.

Kerry is the county with the second lowest incidence of cases in the past 14 days (after Kilkenny). The national incidence rate over the past 14 days is 122.5.

156 of the cases in Dublin, 39 in Donegal, 28 in Kildare, 28 in Meath, 25 in Limerick and the remaining 150 cases are spread across 18 other counties

There have now been 247,489 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ireland and 4,884 people who died with the virus since the start of the pandemic.

As of 8am today, 153 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 47 are in ICU. There have been 10 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.

As of last Sunday (25 April) there have been 1,398,061 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in Ireland:
• 998,134 people have received their first dose
• 399,927 people have received their second dose
