No New COVID Cases Reported For Kerry Again This Evening

LIKE yesterday, there were no new cases of COVID-19 reported for Kerry this evening. Kerry is now the county with the lowest incidence of the virus in the country over the past 14 days.

There were 13 additional deaths and 371 new cases of the virus reported nationally. Of the deaths reported today, three occurred in April, three occurred in March and seven  occurred in February or earlier. The median age of those who died was 85 years and the age range was 60 – 95 years.

The 14 day incidence of new cases for Kerry is 26.2 per 100,000 people. There have been 26 cases reported in the same period and the rolling five day average of cases is one.

Kerry is the county with the lowest incidence of cases in the past 14 days. The national incidence rate over the past 14 days is 121.2.

131 of today’s reported cases are in Dublin, 38 in Kildare, 33 in Donegal, 18 in Cork, 17 in Meath and the remaining 134 cases are spread across 17 other counties

There have now been 247,857 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ireland and 4,896 people who died with the virus since the start of the pandemic.

As of 8am today, 153 Covid-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 45 are in ICU. There were 17 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.

As of last Monday (26 April) there have been 1,417,942 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in Ireland:
• 1,014,640 people have received their first dose
• 403,302 people have received their second dose
