THERE has been a fall in the numbers signing on the live register in Tralee in October.
The number of people unemployed in Tralee now stands at 4,445, down 76 on September’s figure according to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office.
However, the jobless figure rose in the county by 130 from September to October. Overall in Kerry, 9,618 people signed on at the county’s seven social welfare offices last month.

Listowel was the only other Kerry office where the numbers fell in October, by 32 to 1,907. Elsewhere there were increases in Killarney (by 105), Dingle (58), Killorglin (28), Kenmare (43) and Cahersiveen (4).
There has been a 14 per cent drop in the number of people signing on the Live Register in Kerry in the past year.
