‘Older Than Ireland’ Film Maker On Kerry Film Festival Board Of Directors

EVERYBODY loved the beautiful film ‘Older Than Ireland’ which received its TV premiere on RTE last night.

The 2015 documentary film which featured centenarians from all over Ireland talking about life and love captured the hearts of all who watched it.

There was a strong Kerry connection too, besides the two Kerry men, Michael O’Connor and the late Jackie ‘The Farmer’ O’Sullivan, who featured on it.

It turns out the director, Alex Fegan, is based in Kerry and has been recently appointed to the Board of  Directors of the Kerry Film Festival.

The Dublin native has made Ardfert his base for his company, Atom Films, in recent years. Besides his recent success with ‘Older Than Ireland’, in 2011, his film, ‘Man Made Men’, won the Best Foreign Feature award at the Arizona International Film Festival, while ‘The Irish Pub’ in 2013 was also lauded for its memorable and moving portrayal of the Irish institution.

‘Older Than Ireland’ will be screened as part of Culture Night in Killarney later this month. See the trailer here…
