A TRALEE man played his part in raising over €10,000 for two great organisations after a day long event in Ballybunion.

A 24 hour hydrobike challenge at Ballybunion Leisure Centre back in March raised €10,785 which was divided equally between Nano Nagle School in Listowel and Kerry Parents and Friends who each get €5392.50.

Colin ‘Poshey’ Aherne from Tralee, who works at the centre, played a big part in organising the event and was one of the staff on hand to present the cheques. The event saw people take turns on the hydrobikes in the pool over a 24 hour period.

Ballybunion Leisure Centre thanked everyone who contributed and Coast Cafe Ballybunion for sponsoring the event.
