Over €5.5m Allocated For Kerry Sports Clubs, Organisations And Projects

A TOTAL of €5,500,857 in funding has been announced for Kerry clubs and sports organisations under the latest round of the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme (SCEP).

Among the Tralee area clubs and organisations to benefit from large allocations are Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn (€100,490); Rahoonane Community Group (€42,162); Tralee Harriers Athletic Club (€58,886); Tralee Regional Sport & Leisure Centre (€51,568); Tralee Rugby Club (€71,795); St Brendan’s Park FC (€128,116). The Sports Capital Programme is the primary vehicle for Government support for the development of sports and physical recreation facilities and the purchase of non-personal sports equipment throughout the country.

Welcoming the news, Kerry Fianna Fáil TD and Minister for Education Norma Foley said: “I’m delighted to welcome this funding which will provide vital funding for the development of local sports clubs and organisations across Kerry.  On a local level this funding will benefit participants of all levels and abilities ensuring that the health benefits associated with sports participation can be enjoyed by everyone in their local community.” See the full list of clubs and projects to benefit below…
