IT was another night of reflection, emotion and remembrance at Tralee Bay Wetlands for the eighth annual Recovery Haven ‘Celebration of Light’ on Thursday.
There was a large crowd present, many of whom had to park at the Aqua Dome, such was the popularity of the event which is both an important fundraiser and a wonderful way to celebrate the lives of those lost to cancer and those who have gone through their own cancer journey.
It was a lovely dry night as MC Sean Lyons introduced speakers, Marian Barnes from Recovery Haven, Chief Executive of the Rose of Tralee Festival, Anthony O’Gara — as the ceremony is held in conjunction with the Festival — Eileen Henggeler of The Rose Hotel and Rose of Tralee Kirsten Mate Maher.

There was some wonderful music and song from Kerry Choral Union who really add to the serene atmosphere of the occasion, while the Recovery Haven choir also sang beautifully on the night.
The candle-lighting and stone-casting ceremony were special moments for those present, who were helped by members of Banna Rescue in setting the lanterns in the water. Well done to all on organising another moving and beautiful event. Scroll down for photos…
