TUESDAY brought a lot of colour to the classrooms in CBS Primary as the school decided to hold a jersey day in advance of the two county finals involving Tralee sides this weekend.
While the town is wrapped up in the hype surrounding the Austin Stacks v O’Rahillys senior final on Sunday, Na Gaeil are in action in the intermediate final against Beaufort on Saturday in Killarney, a huge occasion for the club.
The school has a great tradition of producing footballers over the years and the children can’t wait to support their teams at the weekend.

“Our school has children from all parts of the town and all clubs,” said Principal Denis Coleman. “It’s a great opportunity for them to show their colours. Stacks and Rahillys are grabbing the limelight, but it’s great that the kids from Na Gaeil here can also show their support. Anything we can do to lift their spirits this week is great,” he added.
It’s not just the kids getting excited, as some staff members were also showing their colours.
“We have huge interest among the staff in both games. Sarah Barry of course is a great Stacks supporter, former Rahillys player and coach Micheál Quirke’s wife Dara is on the staff here and Mary McElligott’s son is playing with Na Gaeil on Saturday, to name but a few connections,” said Denis
It all remains to be seen who’ll be shouting next week when the Bishop Moynihan Cup arrives to the school…unless it’s a draw of course! Scroll down for photos…
