THE annual Coláiste Gleann Lí Student Awards Ceremony took place today (on Thursday afternoon) amid a huge crowd of parents, friends and family who attended to support the school community in an action-packed ceremony.
The 2018/2019 schoolyear was another huge success for the growing school which recently saw the official opening of its €1.1m extension by Minister for Education, Joe McHugh TD.
The extension comprises of a multimedia space and additional classrooms as well as changing rooms and flood lighting for the school astro turf pitch.

This year’s award ceremony will celebrate the school’s successes and also celebrate the varied achievements of Coláiste Gleann Lí second level students over the past academic year.
Principal Richard Lawlor stated: “The awards reflect school policy which strives for the holistic development of each student and recognizes students’ multiple intelligences with specific awards for attendance, diligence, academic improvement, contribution to school life and sport”.

Deputy Principal of Coláiste Gleann Lí, Liam McGill, stated: “Today is a wonderful culmination to what has been a very successful year for Coláiste Gleann Lí; A year that has seen an increase in enrolments, National awards, the opening of a 1.2 million extension and the visit of the Minister for Education Mr. Joe McHugh to name a few. These awards acknowledge the wonderful student cohort we have in our school and the many success throughout the year, in academia, sport, active Citizenship, Gaisce awards and above all they acknowledge the contribution our students make to school life.
