WHILE the Christmas lights will be switched on in town this weekend, anyone arriving into Tralee from the east will already be in no doubt that the festivities have begun in the county capital.

Proprietor Padraig McGillicuddy welcomed the families of staff members as well as those of valued clients, to the hotel for refreshments in The Pavilion with Santa Claus in attendance to meet the little ones.

The denouement to the evening was a switching on ceremony and Padraig had no shortage of volunteers to press the button to turn on the lights around the Estate, which is always such a welcome sight to people visiting the hotel over the coming season.
