CAR lovers were in for a treat if they popped by The Meadowlands Hotel this weekend.
The Cortina Owners Club of Ireland, which was founded over 25 years ago, held a rally during the weekend with 41 makes of the classic Ford model — from the MK1 made in 1962 right up to the MK5 in 1982 — on show in the car-park.
The hotel hosted the club’s AGM on Friday night before members who came from all over the country headed off on a tour of North Kerry in the morning.

The run took in Tralee, Ballyheigue, out to Ballybunion and back via Listowel to the hotel where they enjoyed a dinner and entertainment.
“Most people are staying at the hotel, some for three nights,” said Secretary of the Club Anne-Marie O’Sullivan from Finuge. “Everyone is so glad to be out, in fact it’s our first outing in nearly two years,” she said.
Heather MacIver from The Meadowlands said the hotel was delighted to host the club who enjoyed great hospitality over the weekend. Scroll down for photos…
