THEY’RE was a lot of hair left on the floor of a local bar last night as a charity headshave was held in aid of the Kerry Cancer Support Group.
Local postman Aidan Griffin had been growing his hair out for the past couple of years and decided to cut it short to try to raise funds for the local charity.
Aidan’s friends and family gathered at The Huddle Bar on Friday night where local barber Tony McMahon did the honours and shaved the locks off.

He was joined by Bernard ‘Gadget’ Evans who decided to lose his long locks too in memory of his sister Eileen who passed away seven years ago from cancer.
‘Gadget’ said he hoped people would be inspired to give more generously into the donation buckets by getting his head shaved.
Aidan Griffin said he was delighted with how the night turned out and thanked everyone for coming.

“Cancer has hit every family and the Kerry Cancer Support Group provides a fantastic service for people needing treatment. I want to thank The Huddle Bar, everyone for coming and donating to the cause and to local businesses for donating spot prizes on the night,” he said.
Breda Dyland of the Kerry Cancer Support Group thanked Aidan for his generosity and and The Huddle Bar for hosting the event.
Breda said Paul Lowth of The Huddle Bar has been a great supporter of the charity and just a few weeks ago €800 was raised from donation buckets left at the bar.
A fun time was had by all and the karaoke session kept the entertainment going into the night. Scroll down for photos…
