THE CBS Primary Hoops Tournament was held at the John Mitchels Sports Complex in Ballyseedy and it was another hotly contested event.
Twelve teams from the North Kerry area took part in the tournament which is now in its fourth year.
The tournament aims at giving Primary school boys in the Tralee area a chance to enjoy some court time and practice their skills against other local schools.
Schools taking part were; CBS Primary; Dromclough NS; Blennerville NS; Caherleaheen NS; Scoil Eoin, Balloonagh (2 teams); Fenit NS; Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn; Moyderwell and O Brennan NS.
“The aim of the tournament is, above all else, that every child will get to take part and have fun in the process. It is a fantastic opportunity for schools to come together, learn from each other and demonstrate skills and talents at the same time,” said Michelle Culloty of CBS Primary School who organised the event with Maria O’Regan.

“We are delighted to be hosting the event for the third year, and it is important for the children who play basketball with our school to have something to aim for when training,” added Michelle.
There were some great games throughout the morning and the final saw the hosts CBS play a Scoil Eoin Balloonagh side in the final. It was an incredibly tight affair with CBS winning in double overtime by 20 to 16.
Third place went to Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn. Meanwhile the MVP award went to Colm Browne of CBS and Paddy Lane of Balloonagh. Scroll down for photos…
