IT was a record-breaking year for Leaving Cert results at Mercy Mounthawk, so it was only fitting that these students were honoured at the school on Saturday.
An incredible 22 students achieved over 600 points in the State Exams this year, far exceeding previous records. The school had 38% of students achieving over 500 points compared to 27% nationally, while they had 10% over 600 points compared to 6% nationally.
The students, who are in third level institutions around the country, came back with their parents to the school to receive special awards for their achievement.

Principal John O’Roarke commended them for their hard work throughout their time at the school, despite the challenges they faced with the COVID restrictions. He also praised the parents for the support they gave the students.
He said the students are the leaders of the future and they have a responsibility to change the world for the better and to realise their potential.
The students who achieved over 600 points were; Conor Bradshaw, Ellen Cooke, Jack Dakissia, Katie Dwyer, Tim Pollmann-Daamen, Zakariya Al Janabi, Eimear Litchfield, Jake Carroll, Danny Jeffers, Mikey McCarthy, Ciara Sugrue, Ganna Eissa, Adeola Idowu, Cathy Dwyer, Brian McElligott, Paddy O’Sullivan, Judith Waugh, Grace O’Connor, Diana Fazilova, Farah Khidr, Alison Lane and Aimee Galvin.
Four Leaving Cert Applied students were also honoured for achieving a distinction in the exams. They were Joshua Cunninghan, Alanna O’Connor, Erica Moriarty and Maia Landers Commane. Scroll down for photos…
