IT’S been months coming, but the revamp of the old Fels Point Hotel is nearing completion and it looks great.

The hotel will be officially rebranded The Rose Hotel and launched on April 8, but the new bar and restaurant opened on Saturday and there’s another exciting new gourmet dining experience coming in the hotel in a couple of weeks.

Dott’s Bar – named after Dorothy ‘Dott’ Moriarty Henggeler, the late daughter of the owners, Dick and Eibhlín Henggeler – has a classic look with elegant carpet, luxurious leather seating, a smart horseshoe bar, a spacious seating area and a new fireplace.

The bar, which is accessed through the swish lobby by new double doors, is also serving food from 12 noon to 9pm with a whole new menu. There’s also a whisky section and cocktail bar. The new restaurant also opened adjacent to the bar and is serving an ala cárte menu.

Even more exciting though, is a new gourmet restaurant set to open in early  April. The intimate Rose Room is set to be something special for foodies, with former Executive Head Chef in the 5-Star Killarney Park Hotel, Odhran Lucey, coming onboard in January at the Rose Hotel to devise an amazing table d’hôte menu for a gourmet dining experience.

It’s exciting times at the new-look hotel. Scroll down for photos…
