PHOTOS: Tralee Art Group’s Latest Exhibition Opens In Fenit

MINISTER for Education, Norma Foley, was in attendance early on Friday at the Parish Centre in Fenit before the Tralee Art Group opened their latest exhibition that evening.

The ‘Our World, Our Oyster’ exhibition celebrates Oyster Fishing in Tralee Bay. Minister Foley arrived to congratulate and chat to the students from St. Brendan’s National School, Fenit who participated in the Line and Pattern response to some of the Group’s artworks.

They worked together in school, creating beautiful collaborative pieces which amazed th Minister who then presented the participating students with a goodie bag from TAG for their wonderful efforts.

She used her ministerial status to present them with a ‘No Homework Day’ which thrilled the students.

The exhibition was officially opened by Denis O’Shea, Managing Director of Tralee Oyster Fishery Society. Gratitude for support was expressed to Rebekah Wall; Kerry County Council, Arts Office;  Fenit Parish  Church and Quality Framing in Tralee.

Visitors arrived in the Parish Centre to view and discuss the wide variety of pieces on display and musicians added to the atmosphere. Scroll down for photos…
