THERE were numerous Tralee winners at the Best Of Kerry 2023 awards announced last night at the Dúchas Comhaltas Centre at the Kerry Sports Academy, Tralee.

This is the second year of the awards which are organised by Radio Kerry and sponsored by Lee Strand.

Tralee businesses dominated the awards which were decided by public vote. Speaking about the nominees and winners Fiona Stack, General Manager, Radio Kerry thanked everyone who took the time to nominate and vote.

She congratulated the 2023 Finalists and Winners saying that the organic nature of the promotion is especially important to the future of the Best of Kerry as it really is the People’s Choice.

Tralee town businesses who won included Parkgate, NorthSouth Cafe, Ballygarry Estate, Kingdom Food and Wine, Rose of Tralee Festival, Sean Ógs, O’Mahony Bakery, Terry’s Butchers, Kevin Barrys and Maddens (see full list below).

Gearoid Linnane, CEO, Lee Strand said “Lee Strand is delighted to collaborate with Radio Kerry once again this year to sponsor the Best of Kerry Awards 2023. The awards were a tremendous success, recognising the importance of supporting local and celebrating everything that is the best in our Kingdom.”

The Best of Kerry 2023 was launched in late August and promoted via Radio Kerry’s radio and digital platforms.  It is a two-stage promotion.

Firstly, people were given two weeks to nominate Kerry businesses of their choice in 19 categories, ranging from Best Bakery to Best Tourist Attraction online. The top nominee in each area was determined to be a finalist giving way to Stage 2, the public vote to determine the winners.

Third party software Jotform was used to handle Best of Kerry nomination and voting processes ensuring no block nominating or voting was allowed so’s not to unfairly influence the final results.

Radio Kerry and Lee Strand wish to acknowledge the ongoing support of John Stack, Dúchas Comhaltas Centre and Hazel Byrne, Kerry Sports Academy.
