THE Austin Stacks club is inviting ex-players from all clubs to come up to Connolly Park this Friday for a spot of ‘Social Football’.

If you’ve given up the game and feel like having a bit of fun, then this is a great way to keep active (without aggravating the creaky knees and dodgy shoulders too much).

The plan is to have a game once a week followed by some “social” analysis afterwards. It’s open to men and women who are not playing with a club football team. It doesn’t matter what level you’ve played at or even if you’ve never played Gaelic football. Fitness and skill levels don’t matter either.

It throws in at 7.30pm on this Friday, April 8 up in Connolly Park and sounds like a great bit of craic.

Togged out at the launch of Social Football were Liam Lynch, Francie Breen, Denis O’Connor, Seamus “Mogsie” O’Mahony, Eamon Scanlan, Eamonn O’Reilly, Elma Nix, Pa Laide (and his son Barry), Wayne Quillinan.
