A TRALEE woman has decided to cut 16 inches off her hair to help out cancer patients.

Sarah Burke from Ballymac, who works in the cosmetics department in Sam McCauley’s Chemists in Manor West, chopped off her locks to donate to Recovery Haven, where the hair will be used in making wigs for cancer sufferers.

“Well I’ve wanted to get the hair cut for some time, so I thought I’d do something to help out cancer sufferers,” said the Clarins Consultant, who has been working in Manor West for nine years.

She went into Aspire Hair Salon on Thursday morning and got the hair (which was three years in the growing) chopped off.

Sam McCauley’s have been marking ‘Think Pink’ day on Friday by offering makeovers (normally priced €25) for €10 with all proceeds going to Breast Cancer Awareness.
