Looking forward to the Scoil Eoin St Valentine’s Ball.

WE know it’s early, but if you’re making any plans for St Valentine’s night, you might consider this fundraiser from Scoil Eoin, Balloonagh.

There is a great buzz of excitement around the school as they monitor the progress of their new building and the fundraising committee are organising a Valentine’s Ball to raise funds to develop playgrounds and playing areas around the new structure.

“We are so aware of the benefits of play and exercise for our children, that we want to ensure that we are providing them with the best we can, as we face into a new decade,” says principal Kieran O’Toole. Plans for the proposed new playgrounds are due to be unveiled this week.

“We are hoping to be joined by our past pupils, parents of past pupils, members of our school community and indeed anyone who would like a good night out”.

He also added that he hoped the night might appeal to groups of singletons, looking for a glamorous night out.

The Valentine’s Ball will be held in Ballygarry House Hotel on Friday, February 14. Proceedings will begin with a Garnish Island Gin reception accompanied by classical pianist Deirdre Millane.

This will be followed by a five course meal and then dancing to Arklight followed by a disco by DJ Manus Leane. Tickets priced at €100 each are available from Scoil Eoin Balloonagh reception. Cocktail/black tie attire is optional.
