Seven Additional COVID-19 Cases In Kerry, 646 Reported Nationally

THERE were seven new cases of COVID-19 reported for Kerry at the NPHET briefing this evening.

There were 10 additional deaths and 646 more cases reported nationally. The median age of those who died was 67 years and the age range was 41 – 83 years.

The 14 day incidence of new cases for Kerry is 65 per 100,000 people. There have been 96 cases reported in the same period and the rolling five day average of cases is 5.

Kerry is the county with the fourth lowest incidence of cases in the past 14 days (after Leitrim, Cork and Kilkenny). The national incidence rate over the past 14 days is 159.3.

243 in Dublin, 80 in Kildare, 45 in Meath, 35 in Galway, 34 in Offaly and the remaining 209 cases are spread across 20 other counties.

There have now been 225,820 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ireland and 4,518 people who died with the virus since the start of then pandemic.

As of 8am today, 344 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 87 are in ICU. There have been 16 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.
