March is here and while spring was in the air this week, the weather isn’t supposed to be as kind in the coming days. Nevertheless, you should try to get out and about to a few things…

Friday

1. Tops of the town…

There’s some silverware up for grabs in Austin Stack Park tonight. The Town Board League Final pits Ballymac against Austin Stacks.

The final — for the John Kissane Cup — throws-in at 7.30pm and a great game is expected with loud support for both sides.

2. Play time in Siamsa…

The Zyber Theatre Company stage Jimmy Murphy’s ‘The Kings of the Kilburn High Road’ on the Siamsa Tíre stage on Friday and Saturday night.

The hugely popular play which explores the lives of men who worked on the building sites of London in the 1970s. Curtain is at 8pm nightly and booking at Siamsa Tire 0667123055.

3. Date Night at The Rose…

4. LGBTQ+ Community exhibition…

AN art and sound exhibition created by Kerry LGBTQ+ adults and young people will launch on Saturday, March 2 at 1pm in Tralee Library.

The show documents the experience of being LGBTQ+ in Kerry today and explores how it fits into the broader theme of personal identity.

The show will be opened by Kerry County Councillor, Toirѐasa Ferris and the launch will include an interactive performance piece by musicians Martin Scharer, Teresa Galvin and Jade O’Connor.

5. Comedy at Kerins O’Rahillys…

Joe Rooney

Joe Rooney (Father Damo in Father Ted, Timmy in Killinaskully) performs live in Kerins O Rahilly’s this Saturday night in aid of the Peter Mcverry Trust.

Tickets are priced at €10 with all proceeds going towards the cause. Support on the night comes from Ted Cronin, Steve Mills magician extraordinaire and Gillzie Fitz.

Host for the evening is Seamus Kelly plenty of spot prizes, up for grabs. Tickets on sale from Harvey Norman and Kerins O Rahilly’s Club.

6. Get to the complex…

Another week, another vital game for Garvey’s Tralee Warriors as they bid for their first Men’s Super League title.

This time the opposition is Maree at Tralee Sports Complex. Tip-off is at 7.30pm and another packed venue is expected. Get there early!

7. Walkies at Ballyseedy Wood…

Petmania Tralee is holding an ‘Operation TransPAWmation’ Dog Walk in Ballyseedy Woods at 10am.

All dogs and their owners are invited and there’s no charge to take part, although donations will be welcome on the day to Recovery Haven Kerry Cancer Support House.
