Six Additional COVID Cases In Kerry, 769 Reported Nationally This Evening

THERE were six new cases of COVID-19 reported for Kerry at the NPHET briefing this evening.

There were two additional deaths (both occurred this month) and 769 more cases reported nationally.

The 14 day incidence of new cases for Kerry is 52.8 per 100,000 people. There have been 78 cases reported in the same period and the rolling five day average of cases is 6.

Kerry is the county with the fourth lowest incidence of cases in the past 14 days (after Cork, Kilkenny and Leitrim). The national incidence rate over the past 14 days is 155.2.

284 in Dublin, 67 in Donegal, 47 in Offaly, 45 in Meath, 44 in Kildare and the remaining 282 cases are spread across 19 other counties.

There have now been 230,599 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ireland and 4,587 people who died with the virus since the start of the pandemic.

As of 8am today, 360 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 82 are in ICU. There have been 19 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.

As of last Thursday (18 March), there have been 654,251 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in Ireland:
• 478,725 people have received their first dose
• 175,526 people have received their second dose
