The Sportsfield Bar building which is up for sale.
THE Sportsfield Bar up in Boherbee is set to go under the hammer at the next Allsop Auction later this month.
The building which is home to the famous pub, a favourite of sports fans on match day at nearby Austin Stack Park, has a reserve range of between €110,000 – €130,000.
The auction takes place at the RDS Ballsbridge in Dublin on April 28 at 9am.

According to the description on the Allsop website, the public house extends to approximately 146 sq. m (1,572 sq. ft). It is currently let to an individual at a contractual rent of €16,000 annum, exclusive of rates, with the lease expiry in August 2016. The lease contains full repairing and insuring covenants.
However, Damien Roche from the bar posted on Facebook in reply to our story that “regardless of any auction results, the Sportsfield Bar will continue to be run by Roche family for the next 35 years under lease agreement”.
The property is arranged over ground floor only to provide a public house. Internally the property provides a bar and lounge area.
