The St. Brendan’s Basketball Club teams had a fantastic weekend of action on the courts in Kerry, Cork and Galway with mixed fortunes but some really great performances all round.

Our Boys U16s completed a brilliant season by finishing runners up in the All Ireland Club final in Galway on Sunday going down to Neptune from Cork in a thrilling final.

Well done to coach Fergal O’Sullivan and to fellow Warrior Patrick McCarthy who ably deputised in the coaching role with the team at the weekend.

Our Girls U11 Academy team also finished runners up in the Spring Blitz held in Pres Gym, Killarney on Saturday. The girls played really well to qualify for the final and came up just short against St. Colman’s who won out by a single point. Well done to our coaches Deirdre Hartnett and assistants Mairead and Anna. We are all looking forward to next season already.

Our congratulations go to our Boys U14s who won the Jimmy Curran Memorial Tournament played at Moyderwell on Saturday.

The club hosted this great event in fine style and we were delighted that the club side won out with a terrific win over Limerick Lions in the final.

Our thanks go to everyone involved in organising the event and to the teams St. Paul’s, Limerick Lions, Titans from Galway, Belfast Star and Fr. Mathews who provided a great exhibition of basketball action throughout the day.
