Academy
IMPORTANT NOTICE – St Brendan’s Park FC Academy Registration 2018.

Parents of our academy players please note that the 2018 Academy Registration date for existing members is on Saturday 03 March 2018 from 10:30am to 12:30pm at our clubrooms at Christy Leahy Park. A parent/guardian must attend in person to sign the membership forms and supporting documentation in the presence of a club official. This registration session is being held in advance of the open registration session that will take place at a later date.

This allows existing members/players to secure their place in our Academy for the 2018 season.

Any existing member/ player that is not registered on the 03 March 2018 cannot be guaranteed a place in our Academy for the forthcoming season so it is essential that you take note of this. We have to restrict membership numbers according to the number of volunteers available to coach at our Academy sessions. ( Parents: If you would like to coach at our club please tell us on registration day).

The open registration day will allow parents an opportunity to register new players in our academy, places will be made available on a ”first come first serve basis” subject to the club having a sufficient number of volunteer coaches.

The fees for the 2018 Academy season are the same as last season: €80 for the first child, €50 for a second child from the same family and €35 for a third child and any other children from the same family. Each player is also required to bring €2 for each academy session which contributes greatly towards the costs of purchasing training equipment and maintaining our club facilities.

As an added bonus all existing members will receive a club crested O’Neill’s Backpack as part of their new membership package for 2018. New members/players will receive a club kit but no backpack. Existing members that need a new kit can arrange to purchase a kit from the club shop.

Note: The academy is for players from u6 to u10 age groups. Players born in 2008 will continue in our academy until the Autumn after which they leave the academy and progress to the u11 schoolboy/schoolgirls league. The full academy season will return on Saturday March 24th 2018 and continue until the end of October with a short summer break planned in July as in previous seasons.

Under 11 (2007)
Our under 11c’s travelled to killarney Celtic on Saturday afternoon and braved the bitterly cold temperatures. The two teams were producing some fine attacking play from the off. Several chances were created by both sides with park goalkeeper Mark O’Connor proving to be a great shot stopper. Most of the game then was played in the middle third of the pitch with both midfields battling very hard which was the story of the game. Special mention to man of the match Brendan maunsell with a solid display at right back. Big thanks to killarney Celtic players and coaches for an entertaining game of soccer.
