There was no winner of last week’s jackpot of €12,500. The numbers drawn were 02, 07, 20 & 22. The five €30 consolation prizes went to Eileen Quill, Lohercannon; Jim O’Hara, Blennerville; Sarah Buckley, Derrymore; James Counihan, Ballyseede & Katie Moriarty, Curraheen. This week’s jackpot will be €12,600 and the draw will take place this Sunday night October 5th at 10pm in Skelper Quane’s Bar. Lotto tickets available from the usual outlets or any club officer.
Juvenile Academy:

The Juvenile Academy continues this weekend at the usual time of 10:30am. We hope to have some teams come to us this Sunday for some challenge games so we would like to see as many of our kids there on Sunday. As always, there will be refreshments available for parents while the kids play.

Seniors

Our Round 10 game of the Credit Union County Senior Football League vs Kenmare was postponed last weekend due to Kenmare’s involvement in the County Intermediate Hurling final, which they won. The game has been re-fixed for this Saturday in Kenmare. As these notes went to print, the throw in time has yet to be confirmed. Please check the club Facebook page for an update on the fixture later this week.

Juniors

The final of the Barrett Cup vs Beaufort has been fixed for Saturday October 18th at 4:30pm. Venue has yet to be confirmed.

Steam Threshing Festival

On Sunday October 5th, the Annual Steam Threshing Festival will take place at Blennerville Windmill. This year there will be a classic car display, vintage machinery exhibit, a dog show, as well as music and kiddies amusements. This is a special event as we will be celebrating 25 years of the opening of Blennerville Windmill. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Derryquay School

Camp Drama Group are kindly staging their very popular play A Wake in the West on Mon 29th Sept in the old school Camp, as a fund raiser for Derryquay School. This is a last chance to see this riotous comedy before their performance in the UK. Admission E10 adults E5 children. Tickets available from O’Dwyers, Camp, Derryquay school and any Derryquay parent. Limited number of tickets available on door on night of performance.

Kerry Legends Lovely Legs

Huge congratulations to Andrea O’Donoghue and her team for organising a wonderful fund raising event for the Palliative Care Unit of Kerry General Hospital. The event was hosted by Miriam O’Callaghan with many of the current and former Kerry stars in attendance to shave their legs. A huge crowd attended and the event was very well supported by the local community, raising vital funds for a very good cause. Well done Andrea!

Sympathy
