Juvenile Academy

U8: The U8’s took part in a go-game blitz organised by Ballyheigue Club on Monday 31st July and thanks to the parents and players for getting to Ballyheigue at short notice.

In all we played 3 games against Ballyheigue, Churchill and Ardfert with our players showing wholehearted effort and good skill in all of the games. Well done to James Daly, Niamh Murphy, Chloe Passway, Stephen Enright and Sharon Enright who were grateful for the help provided by Darragh Murphy, Orlaith Murphy, Rory Daly and Luke Passway.

We hope any of our under-8 players taking part in this week’s Cúl Camp will enjoy the activities and we look forward to seeing your improved skills when the Academy resumes.

U16: St Pats U16’s booked their place in the semi-finals of Div 6 County League last Wednesday with a 13 point victory over a physical Kilgarvan/Tuosist side with Patrick Dowling bagging 2 goals and 3 points with 2 from frees and Fergal O’Brien 7 points with 3 coming from frees.

Playing in showery conditions in Blennerville, we opened scoring with Patrick Dowling, Fergal O’Brien and Martin Savage all scoring from play as our boys slowly settled in the game.

Our first goal of the match came in the closing minutes of the half when Luke O’Carroll and Patrick exchanged passes in their opponent’s danger area with the latter finishing brilliantly to leave the half-time scores at St Pats 1-08 Kilgarvan/Tuosist 1-02.

The second half continued the same way with the Pats dominating all areas and our defence line reducing the opposition once again to 3 scores as we added 2 more goals from Nathan Rowan and Patrick Dowling to leave the full-time scores at St Pats 3-12 Kilgarvan Tuosist 1-05

Team: Niall McCarthy, Paddy Murphy, Damien Quirke, Brian Teahan, Jamie O’Brien, Cathal Fitzgibbon, Martin Savage (0-1), Ian McCarthy (0-1), Ali Gardezi, Patrick Dowling (2-03, 2f), Fergal O’Brien (0-7, 3f), Darragh Moriarty, Kieran O’Donoghue, Luke O’Carroll, Nathan Rowan (1-0)
