U5

Great turnout and more new faces for our Under 5 training again this week! Well, done to all the boys and girls who are growing in confidence and participation… keep working on lots of jumping, hopping, crawling, and running different directions at home as well as picking up a ball of any kind! Great listening and energy by Archie and Elsie this week earned their turn of the trophies! Great work boys and girls.

U7

Well, done to all our under 7’s who turned out in force this morning in MTU. There was plenty of hand passing, picking up and running with the ball. Congratulations to Jack Raggett who was player of the week on Sunday, he put in a great effort.

U9 Boys

Well, done to all the boys this morning, they were in flying form! After our warmup they trained collectively working on the pick-up, hop and solo on the run and we had new fun races before finishing with a game. The boys’ skills are improving every week which is great to see especially their hand passing. We’ve asked them to keep practising at home during the week with the pick-up and solo. See them all again next week.

U8 Girls

We had a great session today, we worked on our soloing and had a very competitive hand passing game, it is so rewarding as coaches to see how much the girls are improving week by week. We had an 8 v 8 game at the end with no quarter asked or given.

Our U8 player of the week worked very hard and showed great tenacity in the tackle and displayed great leadership and an unbelievable understanding of what teamwork is all about. Keep up the good work and practicing at home it is paying off already. Regards, Coaches.

U10 Girls

Well, done to all the girls and the U8 girls that joined us this morning for a competitive session this morning at MTU, we hope they had fun!! We worked on speed, reactions, attacking and defending which they really got stuck into. Amelia was our worthy POTW for showing great commitment and a positive approach and great skills. Keep up all the practising at home girls, and we will see you all next week.

U11 Boys

St Pats U-11’s were training in the MTU last Sunday after they had travelled deep into the west on Thursday evening last to play local side An Gaeltacht in the 1st round of the Lee Strand Co League Go Games. Many thanks to parents and coaches for helping with logistics on the night as a result we had 20 players togged out making up two teams with a mixture of our u9’s and u11’s. Both games were very entertaining with some great displays of scores, teamwork and effort shown by all our players on the night.

Playing a game with and against the windy weather conditions will be a valuable learning experience for our boys as they continue to develop their football skills. Our next game is this Thursday 18/4 away to Annascaul we will be in contact with parents with details of this fixture. It’s important you all continue to attend our training sessions and keep practicing your skills at home during the week. Naomh Pádraig Abú!!

U12 Girls

Due to the recent inclement weather, our first game in the North Kerry U12 Go Games vs Na Gaeil was postponed last week. It will now take place next Thursday at 6:15pm in Blennerville. We trained on Sunday last up at the MTU in near perfect conditions.

Noel led a fun active warm up and the girls then broke into skills stations where they worked on the solo, handpass, punt kick, high catch and pick up. We then finished with two excellent small sided games. Keep up the practice at home and we will see you all in Blennerville next Thursday for the Na Gaeil game.

U13

St Pats U13s went down battling to a strong Dingle side. Playing with a strong breeze in the 1st half, we found it difficult to find the same rhythm that had seen us victorious the previous week. The half was a titanic struggle where Dingle used every inch of their home advantage to lead 3-3 to 1-1.

Facing into such a strong breeze, it would have been very easy for the lads to throw in the towel, but they fought for every ball and showed fantastic attitude and no little skill throughout the 2nd half. A good performance overall particularly in the 2nd half gives us plenty to build on at training this Monday and Wednesday at 6.

U17

The Central Region U17 Competition Division 3 begins with our St Pats/Kerins O’Rahillys team against Annascaul/Lispole on Monday 15th of April at 6pm in Strand Road.

Senior

Our seniors are scheduled to play Tuosist in Round 4 of the Credit Union County League on Sunday 21st of April, please keep an eye on O’Shea’s Gala, old clubhouse window and Skelper Quanes for details of this fixture.

Senior B’s

Listowel Emmets were too strong last Saturday night and came away with the win. Cillian Lynch was the first to opening the scoring with a point, the opposition added a goal and a point quickly to go ahead.  Danny Greaney stepped up to reduce the gap with a point of his own, with Jack Lynch putting another point soon after.

Listowel Emmets wanting to keep the lead added another point, the next three points came from Danny Greaney, Darragh Moriarty and Jack Lynch. Half Time St Pats 0-06 Listowel Emmets B 1-02

Five points came from Listowel Emmets to begin the second half, Adrian Greaney donning the red jersey once more took his chance and got a point. Listowel Emmets took control of the scoring with five points coming from their various players.

Niall McCarthy put the final point on the board for St Pats. Listowel Emmets lead was too much and they got one final goal to secure the win. Full Time St Pats 0-08 Listowel Emmets 2-12
