Juveniles

U6: We had a fun morning for under 6s after our break, it was sweaty work in the heat working on our skills, tug of war and match play. Great to see good team play and passing improving, well done to Noah, Dylan, AJ and especially player of the week, Liam Callaghy (visiting from Dublin for the summer) for great intensity in the heat!

U8: Our u8’s returned to training after the break on our astro turf under the watchful eyes of their coaches and mentors. There was a good turnout of players eager to show off their skills as well as putting in great effort throughout the session. Training continues next week at 10.30am.

U10: St Pats U10’s were back training last Sunday morning after their summer break. There was a great turn out and this enthusiastic bunch of players displayed no ill effects of the break and clearly showed that they were practicing their skills away at home especially Gary Scollard, Sharon Enright and player of the week, Laney Costello. It’s important all our players keep the practise going at home during the week.

U14 Boys: Our U14’s played host to Austin Stacks B in Round 5 of the Central Region competition last Monday evening and they played well, keeping in touch with their opponents in the first half but a strong Austin Stacks team prevailed in the second half as we failed to convert some scorable chances. Full time result was St Pats 1-4 Austin Stacks B 1-08.

U14 Girls: After a week off, our girls return to training this Tuesday evening at 6pm in preparation for the North Kerry Ladies Football League coming up early next month. It is important that players attend training to improve their skills and fitness levels.

U16: Our U16 boys welcomed table-toppers, Beale to Blennerville last Wednesday evening for a Round 2, Division 7B County League fixture Wednesday last. Missing a number of key players, the first was evenly contested as the visitors led by 2 points at half time. Beale had the better of the second half as they kicked on from there, eventually winning on a scoreline of 5-08 to our 2-05. Well done to our boys who played well but lost out in the end.

Our next match is away to St Michael’s Foilmore this Wednesday, the 25th of July at 7pm. Venue for this match is Foilmore GAA grounds.

Senior B Team

We played our Round 4 match against An Ghaeltacht last Monday evening in Blennerville. This was a closely contested game but unfortunately we came out on the wrong side of victory by the narrowest of margins as we lost on a score line of 1-13 to An Ghaeltacht’s 3-8. This result meant that we failed to qualify for the semi-finals of this competition but well done to the players who togged out and to the management team.

Seniors

After a week break, our County League campaign recommences at the weekend when we entertain Lispole in Round 10, Division 3 of the County League. A win will see us comfortable in the division with the final game to look forward to.

This is our last home game of the competition and we urge all our supporters to come out and support the team. This match is fixed for Sunday, the 29th of July at 3.30pm in Blennerville.

Acorn Life U21 Football Championship

Best of Luck to St Brendans U21 team, especially the St Pats contingent of Kieran Dwyer, Eoin Greaney and Tommy Lynch who will play Dr Crokes in Round 1 of the U21 Football Championship on Tuesday, the 24th of July in Blennerville with extra-time to be played if necessary. Throw-in is at 7pm and the competition as a straight knockout. We urge all to come out and support the team.
