U14s:
The u14s returned to football Monday last after the heroics of last weekend, They played castle in windy and wet conditions in an away game and st pats proved too strong for this castle team who showed great heart and the score line did not reflect how good they played. ,St pats had great performances from all the team and the subs who came on ,it took a while to get going after last weekend but when they did they showed great passages of play. David played very well in goals and cleared the ball well always finding one of st pats man,Our backs played very well throughout with Ciaran having a very good game soaking up ball after ball. Paddy and Damien defended great as always with Damien showing great strength in all his tackles ,Bryan and martin cleared ball after ball and linked very well with the forwards ,giving off some great passes.Cathal as always played very well and was assisted with some great play from ali who both stood tall and did very well around the middle of the field. Cormac and dara were our two wing forwards on the night and got in to some good positions and won some great ball which set up scores for Patrick ,Thomas and Fergal who kicked some great scores both from long distance and short .These boys kicked some great scores and showed some great link play between the forwards and the backs . Naill and James filled the forward line ,Niall got a lot of ball and showed great heart while James in full forward scored a goal and caused hardship for the castle backs through out .Patrick ,Fergal and Thomas did the majority of the scoring but all the scores were down to the hard work all around the field by their team mates .The team showed some great spells of football but on the night were just too strong for castle who tried very hard through out the game .Nathan ,Michael ,thagh and Samual all came on and played very well contributing some great ball and giving off some great passes . All in all it was a great performance by all who played and good to get back to wining ways,
castle 3-2

Juniors:
St. Pat’s B team won the County Junior Football League Div 6 final when they defeated Castlegregory in Lispole on Friday last. Castle got off to a great start and had 1-1 on the board by the 5th minute. St Pat’s settled down and playing with the wind and with direct football they took the game to Castle. Sean Hayes and Liam Poff took control at midfield and with Gary Lar Savage and James Costello they fed the attack with some combined play with the other forwards. St Pat’s had the lead wiped out at the end of the first quarter with Gary Savage 2 pts, Sean Hayes a pointed free and David Kerins got in on the act with 3 excellent points from play. St. Pat’s then found the Castle when Breandan Savage was at the end of a long ball. Castle replied with 2 points but they were hit with a second goal on the stroke of half time when Brendan Boyle hit home. Half time score St Pat’s 2-9, Castle 1-3.
Playing with the wind Castle tried everything to get back into the game but St. Pat’s defended stoutly with Conor Moore and keeper Fizzy to the fore Castle registered just 1 point in ten minutes. Gary Savage kicked two long range frees and wing back Kieran Dwyer popped over an excellent point from play. Fizzy then made an excellent save to deny Castle a goal. At this stage James Costello and Liam Poff were giving great leadership to the younger players. When Breandan Savage got his second goal this game was over with ten minutes to go. Castle were restricted to 3 points in the second half but they met a St. Pat’s team who hit top form on the night. Well done to manager Tim Moynihan and selector Paddy Joe O Shea. County Board Treasurer Weeshie Lynch presented the Shield to Captain Sean Hayes.
